Holiday Hotel in Bologna Overall opinion. Guests who stayed at Holiday Hotel have given the hotel high ratings on all aspects of their stay. Both overall stay and relationship between price and quality receive high marks.
Some typical guests' reviews:
"Hotel Holiday was excellent value for the money, especially over in Europe. This hotel was easily just as good as the 4 star hotel we had stayed in while in Rome. Kudos to the staff, keep up the great work!"
"Very happy with this hotel. Great value, good location and quiet as on a side street. Clean rooms, good bathroom."
"A famous little hotel in the center of Bologna."
"Nice, clean hotel in the center of Bologna. Friendly employees, good service and nice breakfast."
"This is a very central and comfortable hotel. Breakfast was fresh, varied and plentiful. My room , a single, had a double bed and was very roomy with all usual mod cons. Shower was a bit small - but otherwise the bathroom was fine. Situated in a side street with little through traffic - so generally pretty quiet. About 10 minutes walk to the station and also 10 minutes walk from the Piazza Maggiore. Some excellent trattorias within 100 metres of the hotel serving wholesome, simple and delicious local food at very good prices."
"Choosing hotel and booking on internet was easy and everything was in order when we arrived. The hotel was situated excellent in the city centre in a small, quiet street, within walking range to everything of interest. Our room, with a small balcony to the street, was clean and modern, with a spacious bathroom. Very little street noise, because of traffic restrictions in city centre (thank you, Bologna). Worth another stay..."
"ALTHOUGH AT FIRST SIGHT THIS HOTEL APPEARS TO BE INSIGNIFICANT AND IS IN A BACK STREET IT HAS EVERYTHING REQUIRED FOR A PLEASANT STAY.. I WOULD CERTAINLY USE THIS HOTEL AGAIN."
"We were very pleased with all aspects of our stay, the hotel is ideally situated and the staff are very attentive, we will return to Bologna as there is so much to see, and certainly will stay at the Holiday again."
"Hotel Holiday is a nice and clean hotel which I am pleased to recommend.
"The Holiday is a good, clean hotel very well placed for the centre of Bologna. The room was fairly compact, but comfortable and well looked after. Room size is not a issue if, like us, you are going to spend your time enjoying the city. Plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. We'll stay at the Holiday again next time we visit Bologna."
"Good location, midway between the train station and the main square. Room was clean and tidy, the staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful. We would stay there again."
"Very clean and pleasant. Excellent location, with easy walk to historic district and to the train station. Friendly, helpful staff, handy internet connection, and good breakfast. Room was a bit small, but was immaculate and nicely appointed."
"We have no complaints, enjoyed our stay and would reccommend the hotel to all."
"Apart from the room being a bit small, everything about this hotel was good, from staff's friendliness to cleanliness of rooms, especially bathrooms! The airconditioning was effective. The location was great and very convenient, only minutes walk from the main Piazza. All the staff spoke English and were very friendly. My wife and I would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and family and also return ourselves to Hotel Holiday on our next trip to this wonderful city, Bologna. Congratulations and a Job Well Done to all the staff & management! Thank you and keep up the good work!"
"Very nice hotel in the heart of Bologna."
"This hotel is very central and two minutes from the shopping streets and the historic centre. We were in Bologna for a week-end break and wanted somewhere that wouldn't cost alot, without compromising standards. The hotel was extremely clean (maybe over clean) and the staff were pleasant (even when we came down rather late for breakfast, and checked out late), and the reception staff all spoke English to the annoyance of my wife who was practicing her Italian. We thought it was good value for money and would not hesitate in recommending it."

Paradise Hotel in Bologna Overall opinion. Guests who stayed at Paradise Hotel have consistently given the hotel very high ratings on all aspects of their stay. Both overall stay and relationship between price and quality receive the highest possible marks.
Some typical guests' reviews:
"We stayed at Hotel Paradise and have nothing but the highest praise for those associated with running this hotel. The staff were all friendly, competent and helpful. Lots of extra "small" details/touches added to the rooms which help portray a friendly, happy hotel. We'd definitely recommend it to anyone who is planning on traveling to Bologna."
"Wonderfully pleasant hotel in colourful surroundings, and not far from a convenient public parking area. Small surprises (like fortunes rolled up in the sugar bowl) made this one of the most pleasant and unique stays we've ever had at a hotel. We'll be back!"
"Though our room was smaller than we had expected, we left our luggage in Parma this time, so that was little problem. Hospitality shown in services and several maps and candies etc was the first thing we had experienced during our short trip in Italy, which made us very happy and feel at home. The surroundings were those of typical back streets, but it was very near to the main sights and we found no threat walking around the hotel. Yes, we recommend this hotel to every tourist."
"What a charming little hotel! Our only regret was that we had only one night there. The room was small but lovely, and the amenities were plentiful. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. There was a very generous and diverse spread for continental breakfast."
"Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to go back to the Paradise hotel. The food was lovely, the rooms were clean and adequate in size, the staff were very friendly--only thing that could have been better was the weather (we had snow!!)"
"Very nicely located in the center of Bologna. Small room but nice."
"Cosy hotel just off via independenza - very central, quiet and efficient. Good breakfast with fresh coffee - five minutes to everywhere and very convenient for airport bus - good restaurants round about too. I'd go back like a shot."
"All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The accomodation was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated, with plenty of toiletries freely available. There were also lovely welcoming touches around the hotel, like a short story left by the bed ('Racconti che fanno le fusa'); sayings and 'thoughts for the day' to read in the breakfast room, tied up with ribbon and tucked into the sugar bowl; poems and stories in jars to help yourself to; and a riddle to think about over breakfast. The situation was excellent - walking distance from the bus & train stations, and very close to the historical centre and lots of well-priced restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Bologna."
"I really enjoyed this hotel, very centrally located with friendly, knowledgeable English speaking staff. Breakfast provided was also of a lot higher quality than I have had at hotels of the same standard."
"The Paradise was a delightful introduction to a delightful city. The room was comfortable and immaculate, and the desk clerks could not have been nicer. The hotel may lack "old-world charm" in a visual sense, but it has old-world courtesy in abundance--to say nothing of modern-day conveniences and furnishings."
"Excellent location, good service, knowledgeable employees."
"The room was very nice, and came with added extras, (toothbrush & paste, shoe shine, candies ect.) nice touch. Plus the room and hotel had very positive messages throughout. A stay here will be very enjoyable. Plus there are excellent restaurants nearby."
"Inside it has a feel of quality beyond that I have experienced in several budget hotels that I have stayed at in Italy. Overall good value with lots of attention to detail in the bedroom and the best Italian breakfast yet."
"It is perfect situated, close to one of the main streets, but still very silent environment."
"Good location with easy walking to the historic sites of Bologna. Near good restaurants. Friendly employees were very helpful. Very quiet, clean rooms recently remodeled. We had two skylights with remote control!"
"This is a small but friendly hotel. The rooms and the public spaces have been recently decorated and the hotel is very clean."
"We celebrated our 30th anniversary in Italy/Toscana during 10 days. Our last stay was in Bologna and Hotel Paradise. The welcoming, with a handwritten and personal letter and a "honeymoon-gift" for both of us was a complete, but a very nice surprise. We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Paradise very much and Im sure we will return to Bologna and the "Paradise" again."
"Very nice location near the centre but quiet."
"Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast with self-service bar including yogurt, cereal and fruit. Good location in Bologna, just a short walk from most sites. Would choose Hotel Paradise again."
"It's a quite normal hotel but there's almost nothing to be improved. In particular, breakfast has lots of choices, that's pretty good. Also staffs can speak high-leveled English, so I didn't have any difficulty when I asked something. I was able to stay there very comfortablly without any trouble."
"Great hotel, we had a very good experience at this hotel and will use it again when we return."
"A modern and cosy hotel, simply the best we could have asked for! Within walking distance of the train station and all interesting sights in Bologna. You will surely see us again!"
"Nice location, superb modern rooms in an old buiding. The hotel is very hard to find even on sunday. Breakfast is very good and reception staffs are first rate. Good find."
"This is a lovely hotel run in the finest traditions of Italian hospitality with "sweet little attentions" as claimed on its website. The staff are friendly and could not be more obliging. My family would love to stay there again. Definitely recommended."
"This is a wonderful little hotel, if you want to stay in the centre of town. It's easy to stroll to anywhere in the city. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are very neat and offer nice little touches. The price is very good for the room and the hotel type. I would stay there again."
"A very informal and friendly hotel !"
"I highly recommend Hotel Paradise in Bologna. I recently stayed there and had friends who stayed at other 3 star hotels nearby, none of which compared to the friendly staff, clean rooms and excellent location of the Paradise. This hotel has its name for a reason..."
"I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were competent. Even though I stayed later than the quoted breakfast hours, they didn't make us leave until we had our morning sustenance! The hotel itself is excellent, modern and with all the modern facilities. My room was much more than I had expected. Excellent. Finding it was a bit of pot luck. The map wasn't too good. Thinking I was lost, suddenly a sign appeared to show me the way to Hotel Paradise! Right outside the hotel is a cafe and just around the corner, a trattoria that served nice food at reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone else wanting to stay in Bologna."
"We stayed at Hotel Paradiso. This hotel was one of our favorites of our entire trip. It is located in the middle of the city, so the surroundings are not aesthetically as good as a country hotel, but obviously there is nothing that can be done about that. Actually we quite enjoyed the location. It is on a smaller street so noise was not a problem. It is very close to bus lines, it is only about 1 mile from the university, and there were services such as a coin-operated laundromat, an excellent gym, and plenty of good food and shopping, all very near the hotel. We had booked a room for two people and when we arrived, the hotel only had available a small apartment with two bedroooms, a kitchen, a nice bathroom and a small dining area. They gladly gave us this room. Despite this improvement in the accommodations compared to what we booked, and what we expected, there was no increase in the quoted price, so we were quite happy with this arrangement. The breakfast was very nice and certainly adequate. The staff were friendly and quite helpful. The rooms are divided among a couple of nearby buildings. Our room was on the third level above the street, but there was an elevator that worked well, so people who have trouble with stairs will only have to negotiate one flight. All things considered, this is an excellent hotel that surely treated us well, and we will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Bologna."
"The fact that I will reserve this hotel in my next visit, without hesitation, is my evalutation of this hotel. Room including bath /toilet is clean and breakfast is good. They speak English."
"The Paradise Hotel is a great stay for people visiting Bologna. Centrally located and very, very helpful staff! We plan to return."

Fiera Hotel in Bologna - the bar Overall opinion. Guests who stayed at Fiera Hotel have given the hotel high ratings on all aspects of their stay. Both overall stay and relationship between price and quality receive high marks.
Some typical guests' reviews:
"Very beautiful hotel with an excellent relationship between quality and price (a marvellous breakfast)."
"This hotel was very nice for me. Room was very good. Especially, breakfast was excellent. When I visit to Bologna again, I really want to stay this hotel."
Fiera Hotel in Bologna "Beautifully appointed room in a hotel just a short bus ride from the city center -- away from the noise. The staff at this hotel are absolutely wonderful. I had a very early flight on the day of my departure, and they made sure I was up, my taxi was waiting -- they even offered to fix coffee at 4:00 a.m. Every hotel should be like this one."
"The room was great, new, stylish, with all the comforts, a huge bathroom and very very clean. The only downside was being close to the railway bridge which made it a bit noisy. The buffet breakfast had a good selection of food and hot drinks (though these are from a self service coffee machine and a cappuccino won't fill a normal cup). The location of the hotel makes it a very good choice for the fiera and Parco Nord which are just a short walk away and the facilities provided and their quality make Fiera excellent value for money. I would recommend it and stay there again!"
"This hotel is conviently located near the convention center, directly on a main road and near a rail station. However, the windows are well insulated, and we really did not hear the noise. The rooms were actually fantastic - very modern with a great shower and everything you would expect from a 4 star hotel! (It's rated 3 as of this writing, but I would expect that to change.) We got some really good weekend rates through Venere, and all agreed the value for what we paid was excellent."
"Our luggage went missing and we were 2 days without toiletries etc,. Nino was excellent in pursuing our luggage and embarrassing the airline into finding and delivering it - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the rooms were excellent quality for the price."
"Thank you for service. I`ve liked it very much."
"Very good value for money."
"The Fiera was the most up market hotel we stayed at, just gorgeous. Great facilities in room, including mini bar and lots of lovely toiletries in bathroom. It was a great price, probably because it was off season. Location was close to the centro, and public transport was nearby. Bologna is a beautiful place and we really enjoyed our stay."
"The hotel was great, the food excellent."

Maxim Hotel in Bologna - a suite Some typical guests' reviews:
"Really good."
"Superb value for money. The hotel is quite a way out of the centre of Bologna, but there are buses on the door step. I had a car and it took me 10 minutes to get to the heart of the town. The 4-bed rooms are excellent: divided over two floors, they are almost two separate rooms. If I go back to Bologna, I will certainly choose the Maxim again."
"Business trip with my husband. We had appalling weather but the hotel was excellent and the staff all spoke good English which was a relief. The room was spotless and tidied every day. We will use the hotel again."
"Excellent value for money. Great breakfast, nice to have something fresh & not prepacked like most B&Bs. Staff very helpful. Rooms spacious. Only complaint was we arrived a bit late and restaurant had just closed, there were still people dining but we had to go elsewhere so were advised of a very nice place not far away."
"The "Maxim" is a friendly hotel in the outskirts of Bologna. The employees are friendly and competent, the rooms comfortable and clean, the breakfast is good and the atmosphere friendly. Next to the hotel there is a bus stop, you can go to the centre of Bologna six, seven or eight times per hour. The relationship between price and quality is excellent. We will come back!"
"A nice hotel, easy to find and with a vast parking. The rooms are well suited for a family with kids."
"Parking place: Hotel owned parking facility was spacious and access secured. Breakfast was o.k. for the price level."
"At the time of our stay Maxim was offering by far the best prices - this being the prime reason for choosing to stay there. However, we were even more impressed by the size of the rooms and the helpfulness of the staff . It's often difficult to find a suitable hotel for a family with 3 children. The family room at Maxim was surprisingly big and comfortable (provided you don't mind an internal staircase and a relatively small bathroom). During our stay our 5 yo. son became very sick. The staff were very helpful, locating a doctor for us (on a Sunday), chemists, and showing us precisely how to get to the hospital and other places. For a family the location of Maxim is perfect - being close to a park, and only a short direct bus trip into the city centre (10-15 min). Although we had to manage with a sick child, we still enjoyed our stay, and the quality of the staff at Maxim only encourages us to return again one day to see more of the area."
"RESTAURANT WAS ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT!!!"

Nuovo Hotel del Porto in Bologna Some typical guests' reviews:
"More than expected--a very nice place to stay, near train, nice eating places, shops, and sights."
"Satisfactory-we were passing through on our way to Tuscany."
"I would stay here again. The hotel was comforatble, clean and easy to access from the train station, but not too close. The room was good size and the bathroom was almost as big as the room. There are a fair number of restaurants within walking distance as well as a grocery store across the street. Great value."
"Difficult to find from the map, but once you're there it's a nice hotel. Not outstanding in any respect, but good all round. Recommended."
"I enjoyed the stay, although the location of the hotel was not exactly clear. It was convenient to centro Bologna. The room was small but nice, and the employees were very helpful even holding our bags until an evening train. Overall it was a little expensive for what I am used to in the US, but very good compared to other Italy hotels."
"The hotel did not look great from the outside. Inside it was reasonable. The room for four was a fair size and comfortable enough, except that the air conditioning did not work particularly well. For the price, the hotel met our basis requirement for an overnight stay - but nothing special."
"It is an easy walk from the train station and is very centrally placed within the city. The staff are friendly."
"We asked a reservation for our dinner and the staff managed it very well. Photos in Venere database were so nice that actual properties appeared relatively humble. Location was in a walking distance from the central station, but it was calm at night becase only this area was apart from the busy streets."
"We booked a double room but were actually allocated an apartment which was very spacious and well equipped and just around the corner from the main hotel. All the daytime staff were extremely friendly and helpful but the night porter was a bit stern although OK with us. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the location was excellent - an easy walk to all the main tourist sites. Breakfast was disappointing -machine coffee/tea/chocolate and not very appetising rolls etc. but this was a minor matter. Overall we would highly recommend this hotel."
"Staff very friendly and welcoming - very obliging and willing to help. Room very adequate and air-conditioning great advantage. Dining area limited, but breakfast served in bedroom. Location so near the city centre a brilliant advantage, easily within walking distance. Overall a most enjoyable experience and excellent value for money. Certainly recommendable."
"Great room and fantastic breakfast at the morning, near at the location where I worked, I like it and if I must return in Bologna I want the same hotel."
"The hotel is centrally located, yet tranquile. A professional and welcoming staff. Thank you."

evokes the charme and the ancient nature of the town through its symbol.today completely restored, grants you a nice stay in a very peaceful enviroment.
Rooms have en-suite bathroom, minibar, TV, telephone, hairdryer.
Overall opinion. Guests who stayed at Due Torri Hotel have given the hotel high ratings on all aspects of their stay. Both overall stay and relationship between price and quality receive high marks.
Some typical guests' reviews:
"Great hotel; very friendly and welcoming. Brilliant location. No lift but staff helped with cases. Highly recommended."
"A nice, warm hotel with a perfect location for exploring the city."
"We received a warm and very friendly welcome, and the standard of service and comfort throughout was excellent. A nice touch was the gift of champagne and Pannetone at New Year. Highly recommended hotel."
"This was a good choice of hotel for me as I was looking for a place that was not extortionate but was in the centre of old Bologna. I was delighted with the location, only a couple of minutes' walk from Piazza Maggiore, the main square of the old city. I had a single room which was very small and looked out onto a small inner courtyard. Despite the smallness of the room, it had all the usual facilities I needed (nice shower room, TV, fridge etc.) The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast time was also very civilised for those travellers who stay out late at night! Breakfast is from 7.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m."
"Quite satisfactory."
"Very pleasant and helpful staff. Being there in the height of the summer we were very glad of the air-conditioning!"
"Excellent location just three minutes walking away from Piazza Maggiore. Friendly and helpful staff. Welltasting breakfast served in a very small area of the lobbybar."
"Quiet yet central - an ideal combination."
"We very much enjoyed our weekend stay, the only main improvement to the hotel that we felt would be the existance of a lift as the first flight of stairs was long and narrow, but must add the staff were more than happy to help."
"Modest hotel with an excellent location and a very fair price. Excellent staff, nice breakfast, very quiet, in center of old city. No drawers for storage. Over all, an excellent value for those who must stay in central Bologna."
"We were very impressed with the decor, not too chintzy at all, but very smart. The room was very warm and the bed was very comfortable. The location was very centrally located."
"Service personell was very friendly."
"The hotel was only "due passi" from the busy streets of Bologna and near the excellent Mercato dell'herbe. The outside of the hotel is unpretentious, the inside clean, pleaant and with pleasant and helpful service. The breakfast was adequate (though with a lack of breads for our tastes) with excellent cappuccino. Bologna seems expensive for hotels and this was excellent value for comfort, location and service."
"We were pleased overall. I was upset that we could not find the Hotel initially. No one seemed to know where it is. The rooms should be updated. They are getting a bit out of style. The staff was warm and friendly in three out of four cases. The second floor room, with open windows onto the street were excellent for getting the flavor of Bologna. We enjoyed the central location in that we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. or that the bus was in easy access. My wife and I very much enjoyed the colazione."
"Overall I had a comfortable stay at the "Due Torri" Hotel. It was a nice surprise to find that one could choose what to have for breakfast and the freshly baked pastries were delicious. My room was attractively furnished in gold and green. My only complaint would be that the room had quite a strong smell of cigarette smoke and I am a non smoker. I did my best to air the room every day, but the person who made the bed always closed the windows and I never got rid of the smell, which also stuck toin the historical centre, evokes the charme and the ancient nature of the town through its symbol. my clothes."
"Very good indeed very friendly and helpful staff. We will definatley use this hotel again. Probably the best hotel we have used in Bologna for value for money, service and location."
"The Due Torri has an excellent location, close to the historic centre of Bologna, close to some good restaurants and within reasonable walking distance of both the rail and train stations. The staff were pleasant and the rooms quiet and clean. We found Bologna to be an interesting city and an excellent centre for travelling by rail."
"Due Torri is well located in central Bologna near the main square. The rooms are comfortable and the facilities pleasant. The staff was very helpful with directions, restaurant recommendations, etc. We would stay there again."
