Caravaggio Hotel in Florence Some typical guests' reviews:

The quality of service was excellent, personell were very friendly and informative. The breakfast was very good, yes we really got value for money at this hotel. We will absolutely recommend this hotel to our friends/family."
"Very short distances to all points of interest and to the station. No bustransport necessary. Staff very kind!"
"Great hotel. Very new with a great location. Easy to walk anywhere in town. Breakfast was great. Price was unbeatable. Go for this location, you will like it."
"Very nice stay, friendly staff, clean and quite spacious rooms, very close to station & airport shuttle, very good value for money (especially for Firenze). Absolutely recommendable."
Caravaggio Hotel in Florence "We spent 2 weeks in Europe and visited 5 cities and this was our favorite hotel. The employees were very helpful and nice and the hotel was very quaint and in a great location. They recommended a great local restaurant- with a menu only in Italian, which was great, very non-touristy. We found it easy to walk to all the cities attractions with the map they gave us. The breakfast was great- consisting of breads, cereals, juices, etc. The bathroom had a nice jacuzzi tub and everything was new and nicely decorated. Would definitely stay there again."
"The hotel was very nice and the staff was excellent. As soon as we arrived Carlo was on hand to provide us with restaurant suggestions, maps, directions and suggestions of sites to see and places to go. Throughout our entire stay he was very attentive and ensured that our every need was met. Joseph worked at night and was a pleasure to speak to once we returned from dinner. He would serve us after-dinner drinks at the bar and entertain us with stories and information on Florence. We had a great time and will recommend this hotel to all of our family and friends."
"A beautiful, quiet room with view of the Duomo - excellent rate, the highest possible level of helpful care. A really lovely hotel, worth well more than 3 stars."
"Hotel Caravaggio was a lovely hotel with character and very nice surroundings, The staff were really friendly and helpful. We would reccomend the hotel to any one travelling to Florence."
"A very nice, spacious room and spotlessly clean. Staff were professional."
"Perfect - clean & quiet."
"LOVED THIS HOTEL. ROOMS ARE SPACIOUS, TILED FLOORS, LARGE BATHROOM. STAFF IS GREAT, ESP. CARLO AT THE FRONT DESK. GREAT PRICE."
"Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Got more than expected for the price."
"I thought this hotel was outstanding - I would have been quite pleased with it even if it cost us considerably more, but as it was, is was an excellent value, easy to reach from the train station (same street, which makes a difference when you consider the confusing maze of streets in Florence), and had a very nice continental breakfast included. The bathroom seemed to be brand new, and the room and entire hotel generally looked to have been tastefully rehabbed recently. If we ever return to Florence, this is where we'll stay."
"The stay was wonderful! Wonderfully located and the reception desk fellow was pleasant and spoke English 100%. I will come back again."
"Leonardo, one of the owners, greeted us at the desk. i was surprised that all had gone so well with my group of ten travellers. The rooms are more than ample, the decor is pleasent. the location is great - just a ten minute walk for the train station, The stay at the Caravaggion was wonderful. i say this hesitantly in fear that others will discover it and i wont be able to get reservations next time i am in firenze."
"The room was large, clean and comfortable. The bathroom looked brand new (the hotel was recently renovated) and was spotlessly clean. The room had a television, a small refrigerator, and was air conditioned. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. We would definitely return to stay here."
"We can't say enough about the Hotel Caravaggio. We very much enjoyed our stay. The room/hotel was lovely and the staff was especially friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed and made good use of the internet access and the bar in the lobby. Breakfast was a typical European breakfast buffet. It was tasty and enough to get you through to lunch. The hotel's location was close enough to walk to all major sights. When visiting Florence in the future we would absolutely return to the Hotel Caravaggio."
"We were pleasantly surprised at the modern facilities and cleaniness of our room. The hotel is about 6 blocks from the train station and an easy walk to the major attractions of Florence. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and speak English very well. We would definitely recommend this hotel."
"We even had a small jacuzzi in our bathroom which was excellent."
"Our hosts, Carlo, Joseph and Leonardo made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They were extremely helpful and cooperative. Their manner and warmth made us feel very much at home. The location was excellent, the view of the Duomo from our window was breathtaking. The buffet breakfast was more than sufficient, the dining room staff was very professional. There is no doubt that Elaine and I will stay there during our next visit to Florence. Bravo Venere for including this hotel as an option."
"We liked the hotel. It was convenient to all the places we wanted to visit. It was also close to a laundrymat, which is something we needed after 8 days in country."
"This was a great hotel - very clean, quiet, and a great value. We got exactly what we wanted - a quiet room with a view (of the Duomo). The breakfast area is beautiful and the food varied. The location was good for us and the cafe next door was good too."
"The hotel highlight of our trip to Italy! Great location, clean/spacious/modern rooms, extremely helpful and friendly staff, good breakfast - I could go on. Leonardo and Carlo are awesome hosts. Bravo!"
"Great place for the price in Florence- classy furniture and clean room made for a pleasant stay."
"A real nice renewed hotel with clean and well equipped rooms. Breakfast is nice and served in a good ambience."
"Really good breakfast in a beautifull and very "style" place."
"A terrific welcome from the helpful staff that continued through our stay. Hotel is a short walk from station. Located on Piazza which gave a good open view and lessened the city noises. We had a triple room which was very spacious, spotlessly clean and decorated beautifully. Bathroom terrific. Breakfasts were excellent in a lovely bright room. Internet connex available. Can't recommend the Caravaggio highly enough - it was magnificent."
"Breakfast was excellent and always fresh."

David Hotel in Florence Some typical guests' reviews:
"I've been all over the world and for the price this was one of the best accommodations ever!"
"Very nice place with pleasant help and and an excellent location for exploring the city."
"The hotel David is an excellent value for the stay."
"A warmly welcome ..a fantastic "villa" surrounded by a wonderful garden only a little walk to the city, a big black cat lying on a sofa ...a dream come true in florence thank you DAVID ..hope to visit you again soon."
"This is a wonderful, charming hotel, staffed by welcoming, friendly people who are intent on making your stay with them as perfect as possible, at any hour. The rooms are spacious and lovely, the bathrooms terrific, the breakfasts delicious. They even have newly-installed WiFi capability added to the computer they provide so guests can get their email/internet-fixes each day. The property is lovely, treed and landscaped, carved out of a small niche in the Oltrarno. Florence is completely walkable in 15 minutes but in bad weather the buses stop just steps from the David. And nearby Via San Niccolo has many restaurants worth trying. Thanks to Gabriele and his staff for helping us to fall in love with Florence. I am hoping for a return visit, and I wouldn't consider staying elsewhere!"
"This is by far one of the best hotels I have stayed in. After a long day of sight seeing, coming to this homey, comfortable, and beautiful hotel is definitely therapeutic. Waking up to a luxuriously arranged breakfast further enhances one's experience. Additionally, the hotel is located in the best part of Florence. This is only a 3 star, but it should be a 5."
"Very nice small hotel. Bus stop across the street. Excellent staff. We had a problem back in the US and the staff went our of their way to help us with info and phone help. Computer with Internet connection available for use."
"Probably the best place I have stayed in Italy. Cleanliness and space was great. I had there the best Capucinos I ever tasted. We'll definetly go back there again with relatives. Keep up the good work Hotel David."
"Warm welcome, charming hotel with very good breakfast. The room quiet, to the terrasse. Nice furnitured, parking place is gold worth. 10 minutes to the Inner-town, busstop in front of the hotel."
"We were welcomed warmly by Gabriel and given a mini tour of the outskirts of the city since he picked us up at the airport. All the staff was friendly and attentive. We were helped with reservations to museums and restaurants, and directions for when we wanted to explore on our own. Most of the staff spoke english so there were no problems with communication."
"My wife and I experienced our first international trip this year to Italy together since being married almost two years. Our trip was made great from the start with the friendly staff at Hotel David. The staff personel were professional and were able to converse in English with no problems. The morning breakfast at the Hotel was superb. Our trip to Florence would not have been the same without the pleasant ammenties and friendliness of the Hotel David."
"A lovely, quiet, homey hotel in a green, heavily treed location just south of the Arno. The staff was exceptionally helpful and spoke English well. They found the perfect restaurant for us, called us cabs, gave directions, and helped with our bags. This was also the only hotel in 2 1/2 weeks in Europe which provided free (and seemingly limitless) internet access--not in the room, but in a little private closeted space off the main reception area. We'd recommend the David."
"We were in Florence for our honeymoon and enjoyed our stay at the Hotel David. We found the desk staff to be very helpful and welcoming. They provided us with maps of town, tips on restaurants, called and set up reservations for the top museums in the city, and allowed us use of their internet computer to contact our families. The atmosphere of the hotel is calm and efficient, with lots of character. It is attractively decorated with antiques. The breakfast room was very pleasant, the staff was efficient and the food good, with plenty of choices. Again, the food was attractively presented. The hotel is located on a treed and shady street within a block of good access to public transportation."
"It is easy to walk (along the river bank) or catch a bus into the centre of Florence. We liked everything about this hotel, the rooms and en-suite bathroom were great, the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was as good as we got. Also because it’s a little out of town the Hotel David is the perfect place to relax and unwind in a bit of comfort after the hustle and bustle of the centre of Florence."
"I have stayed at Hotel David four times in four years and have found it to be a wonderful experience. The location is ideal if you have a car for days trips around Florence and or just want to explore Florence on foot. The staff is excellent, helpful, and gracious. I have recommended Hotel David to friends who share my opinion."
"Staying at David was a splendid experience. It really is a little gem. We would be happy to return and most happy to find these accommodations anywhere in the world. We can recommend it without reservation and with enthusiasm."
"Outstanding hotel! My son and I were travelling in Italy and we stayed at the Hotel David while in Florence for three days. We were met at the taxi by the manager who then helped us into the hotel. The service we received from that point on was the highlight of our stay. The entire hotel was spotless, with hand-painted animals decorating the hallways of the stairs. There was also an elevator. The rooms were bright, airy, well-appointed, and very generous in size. The breakfast was out of this world with fresh fruits, cereal, pastries, as well as the coffee, tea, and juices. The wait staff was very hospitable. The bathroom was very large, with cabinets, and very clean. They had a happy hour in the lobby with food and wine in the afternoons. There was also a free internet point in the lobby. The center of Florence was nearby, as were a selection of delightful restaurants and bars. When we left, I forgot my pillow, and we called and they sent it along to the USA! Amazing, gracious service! Our stay at the Hotel David was one of the highlights of our Italian experience. I give it my very highest recommendation! Thank you so much to all the staff, for a wonderful time!"
"This is a lovely hotel, with very nice and helpfull staff. The art-deco rooms are very tasteful and stylish. Although it is a bit of a walk to the "centre" of Florence (20 minutes), the Piazzale Michelangelo is only a very short walk and offers the most fantasic views of Florence. We highly recommend the hotel."
"Of the three cities I visited during my holiday, Florence was my favourite, and in no small part due to the Hotel David. It is a wonderful hotel, with friendly and welcoming staff, all fluent in both English and Italian. The rooms are clean and tidy, in fact the room I had also had a generously sized balcony (an added bonus I hadn't anticipated). The hotel was far enough out of the centre to be quiet, but close enough to walk in everyday. Another facility offered by this hotel is the email checking service, offering guests the oppertunity to check their emails from the hotel - a very useful thing if away from home for a long time. All in all I couldn't reccommend this property higher, and will definately be staying here again next time I an in Florence."
"The hotel was really easy to locate coming from the highway (From Venice). The welcoming was very warm, they make you feel good after driving for various hours; the man at the desk was very gentle and attentive. They also had private parking as announced in their site. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel is in very good shape. The lady at the desk was very kind and very helpful. Breakfast was above standard. Although not far located from Ponte Vecchio (about 15-20 min walk), transportation was a plus, buses (10 – 15 min) running to the Station and Piazza M. Angelo, will pick you up and drop you just around the corner of the hotel. I will certainly go back there when returning to Florence."
"The Hotel David was excellent. Good value. There is a very good bus service from just across the road from the hotel."
"The hotel had a wonderful charm to it. The staff was very kind and accomodating. All the individuals working at the hotel were very pleasent. The bathroom facilities, bedroom and overall location was great. The parking area was good and the staff was always ready to assist. A wonderful place just from the beauty of it. The staff added the charm. I would highly recommend this hotel."
"This hotel was fanstastic. By far and away, it is the best hotel we've stayed at in Europe and in the US. The staff was fantastic. All needs were anticipated. The atmosphere was beautiful. The rooms were perfect. We'll be staying with them again when we visit Florence."
"Can't go wrong here! Our stay at the Hotel David was the best out of 14 days in Italy, even compared to 4-star hotels."
"My wife and I were married in FLorence during our stay at Hotel David. This made us out as more difficult guests, but the staff came through with flying colours. For example, as it was a demanding trip, there was a morning when we slept through the alloted time for breakfast. Somehow, they knew this and we received a phone call from the desk offering to bring breakfast to our room. The wonderful staff also helped guide to me a clothier for a beautiful suit. To top it off, they helped arrange for a local cleaner to press my shirt quickly before the wedding. My wife and I especially enjoyed the evenings at Hotel David as each night they placed out beverages (juice, wine, champagne) and snacks (cheese, nuts, olives) for the guests to relax after a long day playing tourist. The next time we travel to Florence we will call upon the David without any hestitation. A truly wonderful little hotel run by professonials. Thank you."
"I give five stars to this three star Hotel. - The room was big enough for my two teens and myself and well decorated. - Good breakfast and easy access."
"We just loved this hotel. A bit of a romantic place. The staff could not have been nicer or more willing to help. A little ways from the main part of town but then quieter. Easy to catch a bus or just a 10-15 min. stroll along the bank of the Arno River to get to the center of things. We stayed three days and would definitely stay there again."
"Top class service with free parking."
"Great hotel, good value. Nice interior design."
"A very cosy, familiar hotel, we have spent there 4 wonderful days."
"All around, a wonderful stay. The breakfast room was beautiful, the attendant extremely attentive, and the food excellent. The room and other facilities were as nice as could possibly be expected. We already have recommended Hotel David to our friends."
"We had a wonderful stay at the David, although it was a walk from the city centre it's location next to the 'D' bus route was excellent as this does a circuit of the city, I would highly recommend this hotel."
"The Host was extremely accomodating, the rooms were clean, well appointed and large by European standards. He was helpful with Maps, luggage, recomendations, local openning & Closing times, all things we needed."
"A very charming and comfortable hotel. It's our second stay and we enjoyed it as much as the first one. It means that quality and kindliness remain at top level throughout the years."

Orcagna Hotel in Florence Some typical guests' reviews:
"I love this hotel and the people who run it!! The mother and daughter are fabulous, helpful people who go out of their way to make you feel like a part of the family. I would recommend this hotel whole-heartedly!"
"From the moment we registered, and regardless of the time of day or night, the staff at Orcagna went out of their way to help us out to get to tourist sites, good restaurants and shopping. The hotel location is ideal in that it is within walking distance to some historic sites and is one block away from the municipal bus which is inexpensive and easy to use. Our room was clean and comfortable; it overlooked a quiet garden and other housing making it feel as if we were in the suburbs even though we were minutes away from the historic center of the city. Free access to the internet was a real bonus helping us to plan future travel without stress. The breakfast service was very convenient enabling us to fuel up before starting our non-stop touring. We highly recommend this hotel."
"We had a wonderful stay here. The staff were very friendly, it was in a good location in not too touristy an area with some great local restaurants that the staff recommended. Only a short walk into the centre of town."
"It was a nice and pleasent stay, thanks again for the possibility of near-by-living in florence!!!"
"We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Orgagna. The room was very quiet, and the bathroom was very modern and clean. The staff was very nice, and we were greeted with a map and shown the nearest bus stops, the station and the dome. We had a very pleasant stay, and we would recommend Hotel Orcagna to anyone, since they were also the cheapest hotel around."
"An excellent place, great breakfast. Best deal of my trip."
"We had a room on the attic with an excellent view on Bruneleschi... I recomend it to everyone!"
"A really beautiful room made me think this hotel was 3 or 4 star, and the price was unbelievably cheap for this standard. Only downside was the evening manager had little or no English, but it wasn't overly important. Location is about 10-15 minutes walk from Duomo and Campo di Marte train station."
"Staff was excellent & location was good."
"Good location -within easy walking distance to the sites & restauants. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Good sized rooms."
"A very nice friendly family run hotel."
"Very friendly staff, clean little hotel."
"This was our best hotel experience of our trip. While the lady at the front desk spoke only a little English (she speaks Italian and French) she went above and beyond to understand what we were asking and to more than fullfill all our requests. I would stay here again. We only rode the bus into town the first day. The rest of the time we walked."
"The hotel was comfortable, convenient and we enyojed our stay."
"Our criteria was not too noisy, rooms clean not too small and a buffet breakfast. For these we would accept little communal space or facilities and travelling to and from the centre by bus. We found the buses easy and frequent (but check timetable late at night!). The only noise was the dust cart early morning, and I guess that appplies to all of Florence. Our room was certainly clean and spacious (with a small balcony over the street) and the breakfast fine. The staff were friendly and obliging."
"We were 5 couples visiting Florence for the first time. Thanks to a very nice staff and a nice little hotel, we had a very pleasent easter holiday in Florence. The breakfast-room was a perfect meeting place for us in the morning. Here we could plan our next move, while eating a delicious breakfast (included). The staff helped us with everything from internet-trouble and ice cubes to booking tickets for the Uffizi gallery. We highly recommend this hotel!"
"I enjoyed relation with all the orcagna staff and they help me quite a lot to find the AMEX office in florence. Thansk for their cooperation and help they offered. Good Hotel to stay with family. Specially a lovely Breakfast lady. Regards."
"Friendliest staff on our whole trip. Hotel was a great buy, we were able to park for free right outside the hotel. Great little garden out back, and a hidden foozball my son loved."
"More than adequate economy accommodation within walking distance of Firenze centre."
"A lovely little hotel -welcoming, helpful staff, nice rooms, good breakfast, very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to everyone!"
"We spent 21/2 weeks in Italy and stayed at a few hotels and the Orcagna was far and away the best. The room was spacious, (we had a quad), the beds were very comfortable. And the Staff was the nicest and most helpful of all that we incountered while in Italy. We have recommend the Orcagna to a couple of friends who are planning to visit Italy in the next 6 months. Thank you, for a wonderful experience."
"The staff was very friendly and we liked the breakfast buffet. The Service was quite well, like the iron possibility. Thanks to the Hotel Team."
"The hotel is located in a quite area close to downtown. It was easy to find, nice to stay and convenient to go around. Hotel personnel are professional, friendly and helpful in providing information to tourists. Rooms seem to be reasonably well equipped, clean and with good space. Breakfast buffet is generous and well served. I would strongly recommend this hotel to other family or group tourists. Excellent quality and comfort. Good value for the money spent."

"Had a wonderful stay in Hotel Lombardi, room was spotless and very spacious, staff at this hotel were so friendly and welcoming, great hotel and at a very resaonable price, would highly recommend this hotel when staying in Florence."
"A very pleasant hotel, close to the centre of Florence but still quiet, with pleasant and helpful staff. An excellent base for a week sightseing."
"The ratio between price and quality is very good. The location is perfect."
"If visiting Florence again would definitely stay at Lombardi."
"Fantastic facilities. I will stay there, the next time I am in Florence!"
"I had a phenomenal experience at Hotel Lombardi. I have already recommended the hotel to several friends, a few of whom will be making reservations there shortly!"
"Hotel Lombardi is conveniently located very near to Firenze SMN Railway Station but not on the noisy main street. The hotel rooms are named after the most famous Italian painters and each room has a selection of reproductions of the work of the relevant painter. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean. The staff are friendly, competent and helpful and speak excellent English. The breakfast supplied is more substantial than the usual Continental breakfast and sets one up well for the day. There are many restaurants quite close to the Hotel and most of them offer good food at a reasonable price. There is also a fresh food market a few minutes walk from the hotel. I would certainly recommend Hotel Lombardi to anyone who stays in Firenze."
"This was my second stay at the Lombardi. Rates are reasonable, location is pretty convenient, and considering very little time was spent in the room (sleeping), overall the hotel is a good value for a visit. It is a little difficult to drive to because of all the one-way streets, but an easy walk from the train station. I would probably stay there again."
"This hotel is very convenient for both the railway station and the city centre. It is a cheerful place with friendly and competant staff. For a small hotel the breakfast was very good. There is some noise in the rooms which face onto the main street, but this does not keep you awake at night. The facilities are basic but adequate for a comfortable stay."
"Lombardi was so near from the station that I found it soon, and it was very useful for me. The Hotel's room was neat, and the breakfast was very nice, too. Moreover the staff was so kindful that I had no difficulty although I can't speak English very well. I was very satisfied with my stay in Lombardi."
