Some typical guests' reviews:
"Reception of employees was good. Location of Hotel Alba was very good."
"The Hotel Alba was a very nice hotel in a good location close to the train station. It is on a quiet street near some nice restaurants and gelato shops. My son and I enjoyed a nice walk to the nearby piazza where we enjoyed some gelato after dinner. The rooms were a nice size and very clean."
"The Hotel Alba was fantastic. Friendly helpful staff and a good location. There is even a self serve laundry mat a few doors down which came in especially handy as we were half way through our trip and needed to do some washing. The rooms were clean and spacious."
"If you travel by train, the hotel is conveniently located 3 minutes from train station. Clean, nice, private bathrooms."
"This is a nice hotel, situated in a great location, 2 mins walk form the train station and within easy walking distance to most tourist attractions. This hotel is great value for money."
"Stayed in the hotel with wife and 14 years daughter. Outside temp. was 36 Deg C. Air-condition was excellent. Enough space in room for all. Bathroom and toilet very comfort looks quite new. Located 300 meters from main Train, Bus station and Hertz Rent A Car. Very near most attractions of city. Rich breakfast, polite staff. Recommend hotel to all."
"The Hotel Alba was great. Its location is within easy walking distance of the city's major sites - I walked everywhere, and I was able to reach Santa Maria del Carmine, the Pitti Palace, the Uffizi, the Duomo, and the Accademia - and of course, the Santa Maria Novella and the train station are both about a block away from the hotel. What is more, the hotel staff are friendly and helpful; they also speak English, which is convenient. The rooms are small, but they do provide enough space. In addition, each room has a safe. The breakfasts were nice - the rolls were delicious!"
"It's a good hotel with good prices, clean, comfortable."
"We had a triple room for 1 night. Room & bath were very spacious & comfortable. View from window is dull although you may see the dome. Hotel is centrally located near the railway station, in walking distance from most important sites in Florence. Breakfast was OK. Hotel staff was cordial and they were kind enough to let us keep the room until after mid-day, so we could have a quick tour of major attractions next morning. There is a parking problem on the street where the hotel is located, although we were lucky enough to find parking space right in front of the hotel. The price offered for the room was very attractive. Over all rating: Excellent."
"Physical facility was good; staff was superb. Location is excellent for a tourist in Florence."
"The hotel is conveniently located close to the centrale stazioni and all other sites in Florence is walking distance from the hotel. There are stores and restaurants within the perimeter. Staff was wonderful as they provided me with maps of the city and advise on getting to places."
"The hotel staff was pleasant and accomodating. I arrived early (11 AM) for my room, and the desk attendant did not hesitate to find me a room immediately."
"Good location and nice place to live, price are resonable, staffs are friendly."
"A real bargain. Rooms are a bit small but more than adequate."
"Being myself a professional of hotel business I can only say that the Hotel Alba was more than a positive surprise to me compared to other 3 star rated hotels in Florence. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I can recommend this hotel truthfully and would not doubt to stay there again during my next stay in Florence."
"Good and clean hotel with very friendly staff. Bathroom rather small, but otherwise room OK. Centrally located, yet the surroundings are more tranquil and nicer than one would expect being adjacent to the railway station. Room rate decent in comparison with the general price level in Florence."
"For two relatively hard-up students, this stay was an indulgence, in part to satisfy the idea of florence as picturesque, but also to ensure a useful base and minimum fuss with getting around and seeing the sights. I'm glad to say Alba provided both. The hotel itself was a little compact, certainly, the room was big enough for a double bed, shower/bathrom and accoutrements, but not for much more, yet was perfectly adequate for our needs and sported a fine decor. The air conditioning was remarkable and appreciated! Location-wise it was about 100 metres from a nice piazza. Staff were always friendly, polite and conscientious and made our stay extremely pleasant. What more could you want?"
"I wish to thank all employees for your kindness and your professionality."
"Nice hotel with very nice people and good service!"
"The staff are the greatest asset to this hotel. They were always friendly, professional and courteous. The room was clean and housekeeping was excellent. Location is very convenient to the train station and a 15 minute walk to the Duomo. The breakfast buffet was nice."

Some typical guests' reviews:
"Excellent location near the station and the exhibition centre. Extremely useful the hotel's car parking."
"Very nice stay. Near the station, thus limited need of luggage transportation. Modern and clean hotel."
"The free parking is a great asset as parking can cost 25 Euro a day in Florence. The hotel is a 3 minute walk from the train station, and only a 15 minute walk to anywhere you want to visit. Large public areas if you wish to hang around and chat or write. The stay was worth the price."
"Congratulations to Venere! The informations provided were very useful, helpful and accurate. I think that the Hotel Leonardo da Vinci is a good choice for people travelling to Florence by train or by car. Most historical monuments are within a short walk distance."
"We were very satisfied with the room and bathroom. Only breakfast was basic. Good value for Florence."
"Nice hotel, excellent breakfast, free car parking is very helpful."
"The Hotel has taken the minimalist look to the extreme as the rooms are all beige/brown. However the hotel does have some very good points. The room was tidied and cleaned each day. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The main plus though for the hotel is the location as it is within walking distance of everything that you would want to see in Florence. The off street car parking was also a massive bonus as there really is a lack of parking around the city. All in all a good hotel made excellent by the location it has. (5-10 minute walk from the Duomo)."
"The hotel is very distinctive. What you see in the photos is really what you get. Fairly near the train station - great style (if slightly worn) - fits particular tastes. I really enjoyed it."
"Nice up-to-date room."
"The Modern Interior is good."
"We were definitely satisfied with the clean, modern, comfortable yet simplistic style of Leonardo da Vinci. Well done! Thank you for your recommendation, we will use your service whenever we travel abroad."
"Although the hotel was a bit hard to find (we parked and walked to it), once we got there, the reception was wonderful. Everything was in order. The car park was free (and monitored from the hotel) which was very convenient. Although the room seemed a bit dreary, and the outside surroundings of the hotel appeared sterile, there were no complaints. The air worked in the room, and as it was extremely hot, we were grateful. The staff was excellent. Very friendly and helpful."
"We enjoyed our stay, the staff was generally helpful and its location is excellent to visit Florence by foot."
"The daVinci is a decent hotel reasonably priced. The room was well equipped and clean. But this is a very spare hotel done in basic black and white with no color, no pictures, nothing to break up the pristine high tech sterile feel and appearance. It is very convenient to the train station."
"Hotel was situated about 20mins walk to centre of city. It is a very modern, functional hotel but the rooms were very clean, comfortable and spacious. Good value for money for a short break."
"Rooms are quite spacious."
"We were very satisfied with our stay at the Leonardo da Vinci and would recommend it to others."
"Excellent relationship between price and quality, all sights are few steps from the hotel."
"Very good hotel, value for money. Well maintained clean hotel. Close to the city center. I would defenitley recommend this one."

Three stars hotels in Florence

View of San Lorenzo's church from Globus Hotel in Florence Hotel Globus is an extremely good value three stars hotel in a very central location, few minutes' walk from the central train station Santa Maria Novella, the Duomo and all other main attractions and the Congress Centre.
Recently totally refurbished, Globus Hotel was designed to offer a sophisticated and cosmopolitan yet charming atmosphere, where contemporary refined interior design, created by the owners, blends comfort and technology with harmony.
The hotel is just around the corner from Piazza San Lorenzo with its renowned market and church, whose beautiful dome you can see from the hotel and its rooms.
Hotel Globus facilities include reception open 24 hours, lift from the first floor, laundry service.
All 23 rooms have air conditioning, Web TV (internet console with ADSL connection and wireless keyboard), satellite TV, hair dryer, personal electronic safe, radio.
Most rooms have stunning views of Medici Chapels and Florence's rooftops.
Double rooms are of 2 types: Standard and Superior, differing from one another only in size.
Overall opinion. The Globus Hotel is certainly a very much appreciated and highly popular hotel. It has received from its guests some of the highest ratings for hotels of this price bracket. People who stayed here gave the Globus consistently very high marks on every aspect of their stay, and cleanliness of rooms, welcoming and quality of service provided received the highest possible ratings.
Some typical guests' reviews:
"The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was clean and air-conditioned, the location was excellent, and there was even free internet access. Furthermore, the prices are reasonable and exactly as quoted. I will definitely book with this hotel again when I return to Florence."
"Fantastic value for money (but also very nice!)"
"Very friendly staff and clean room. The receptionist Nicholas was very helpful and lugged our heavy bag up cheerfully to our room. Internet access in the room, and there is a quicker connection in the restaurant. There is a laundromat around the corner which was very convenient. Lovely time here and will certainly stay here on our next visit."
"Stay at the Globus Hotel if you want to stay in a very friendly, clean, efficient and well located hotel! The staff were always very pleasant and helpful, ready to make our stay as pleasant as possible at all times. The rooms, although not huge were very comfortable, the air conditioning was a godsend! The fact that internet and email access was readily available was also a great help for those of us who have come to rely so much on technology."
"When I booked our various Italian lodgings on Venere , it was with great trepidation since we had never been to Europe. Reading guide books and hearing the experiences of a friend who had been in Italy recently were our only preparation. Arriving at the Globus dispelled all fears. From that moment forward, every member of the staff bent over backwards to welcome us warmly, answer any question, offer advice, make arrangements or recommendations or help a guest with anything whatsoever that he or she might need. The rooms were clean, modern and completely comfortable. There was never a shortage of hot water or clean towels. A laptop computer in the breakfast room was available to guests most of the day and into the evening. The breakfasts equalled or surpassed those at our other Italian lodgings. Our "superior double" room had a balcony with a grand view of the Basilica di San Lorenzo cupola and Medici Chapel rooftops. The location is exceptionally convenient to the San Lorenzo markets, Santa Maria Novella church and the rail/bus stations. Of course, in Florence, all the "hot spots" are in a relatively small area. If, like me, you want more than the very modest mom and pop pensione but not the price or luxuries of a 5-star hotel, book the Globus with confidence."
"We spent 4 nights at the Globus Hotel and did not want to leave! We found their attention to detail and overall service to equal that of a five star hotel. Breakfast was held in a relatively small room but this afforded the opportunity to meet and talk with other guests of the hotel. Having spent a month travelling Italy we are happy to say that Hotel Globus was by far the the best. We miss Michaele, all his staff and can't wait to return."
"This is the second time I have stayed at the Globus. Whenever I return to Florence, I will stay here again. I loved it the first time and this time was even better. I loved the friendly staff, the convenient location, and the rooms for the price. Keep up the great work."
"This is a great hotel. It is situated in a good area in Florence. 5 minute walk from the train station...10 minute walk to Duomo....15 minute walk to Ponte Vecchio. The staff is incredible as well. Extremely professional and always willing to help make you stay more enjoyable...from dining suggestions to a night out dancing. The hotel was recently renovated as well! The furniture, flooring, and overall appearance of the hotel is very modern...with free internet in your room as well as the breakfast room. I have already recommended this hotel to my friends and will definitely stay here when I come back to Florence!!"
"The Globus Hotel is a 5-star experience. Charming staff, great facilities and great location. It was the best value in lodging in our 3 weeks in Europe. It's ideally located near charming street markets, plenty of restaurants and the train station."
"I would highly recommend the Globus. Of all the hotels I stayed in on my trip to Italy, this was by far the best. The hotel is perfectly located within walking distance to all of the main sights in Firenze. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and stylishly decorated. The staff at the Globus is exceptionally nice and very helpful. Every time we entered the lobby, we were greeted with a smile and a ciao. The continental breakfast is very good with many different choices. There is a internet connection set-up in the lobby where you can check e-mail any time of day. The vast majority of guests were American and the hotel definitely seemed to cater to Americans, but it did it with an Italian flair. I was travelling with an Italian friend and she said that this hotel is most definitely the best hotel for your money in Firenze. I will be staying at the Globus again the next time I visit Firenze."
"I do not know why this hotel is ranked as a 3 star hotel. It really should be a 4 star hotel. At least, it is better than most 4 star hotels we stayed at in Italy. We pretty much went for 4 star hotels only, but picked Globus because it had so many good reviews on Venere . The hotel is all that the good reviews tell you it is. It is very clean and modern, recently renovated. The staff are almost unbelievably friendly, all fluent in English, and very helpful. The customer service is impeccable. The rooms are of good size (european standards) and very clean and modern. We loved the cute telephones in the rooms. The free internet connection in the room was great (wireless web TV). There is also free internet connection in the breakfast room. Breakfast was very good. There is a two fairly short flight of stairs from entrance to the front desk, but the hotel staff are available to help move your luggages if you need. From the front desk you can take the elevator (a very small one) to other floors for your luggages, but we did not have to, the hotel staff put our luggages in our room for us. The location of hotel is also great, close to train station and tourist sites (this is generally not an issue in Florence since it is a small city and you can walk everywhere). There is a very good restaurant right across the street from front door (across and about 2 doors to the right) with good prices and excellent food, not a tourist trap. A coin-op laundry around the corner from the hotel is a plus. This is an ideal hotel and a great place to stay. We highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again."
"The Globus Hotel was by far the best hotel we stayed in during our entire 15 day trip all over Italy. We were a couple on a tourist visit, and stayed there for 3 nights. The location of the Hotel was great, within walking distance to the train station, and to basically most major tourist sites. The hotel staff were truly superb, very helpful, professional, friendly, and very very responsive to your needs. All of the front desk employees were excellent, in particular I should mention Nick, who went out of his way everytime to help us with even smallest things. The room was truly superb. Very spacious, the bathroom was excellent and included a bathtub and shower, good water pressure. The aircondition worked magic. The rooms all have free wireless internet connection, which is very nice and you can check your e-mail while in bed. There is also a free internet connection in the lobby that you can use. The breakfast was very good. There is a coin-op laundry in the street just around the corner which comes handy (costs 6 Euro to do one load wash and dry). Overall, this is truly one of the best (if not the best) hotels that you can choose in Florence, with reasonable prices. We highly recommend it. We will certainly stay here next time."
"We stayed at the Globus Hotel . Our room was large and our bathroom was spotless and also large. Staff at the front desk and breakfast room couldn't have been nicer. Highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again. Location was also excellent."
"Wonderful view of San Lorenzo cupola out the window of my room."
"Our experience here was excellent. The rooms were clean and modern. The staff was very helpful with every aspect of our trip. The prices were low and gave so much more in comparison to other hotels that we visited on our trip. The complimentary breakfast and internet service really made our stay easier. I would definitely book this hotel again if I was staying in the area. Thanks!!!"
"The hotel is a short walking distance from the train station so it was very convenient for us. Actually, most of the attractions in Florence is within walking distance of the Globus Hotel . The staff was cheerful and very helpful."
"I loved the place. nice-clean-towncenter-excellentprice-welcoming !!! excellent pick."
"A very good hotel, good location, nice room, friendly and helpful receiption. I would recommend this hotel to all who will stay in Firenze."
"Pleasant hotel with excellent service. If you are looking for a place close to the Mercato Centrale this is an excellent choice...you can see some of the stalls from the entrance to the hotel."
"We loved this hotel and the location was perfect---within easy walking distance of everything. Our room's view was wonderful! The staff were very friendly and seemed to know everyone's name. We looked forward to breakfast every morning. An incredible restaurant across the street was the Palle D'Oro. A fantastic pizzaria was next door. When we went to Venice and Rome, the Globus kept our luggage and always welcomed us back. We definitely recommend the Globus! We chose it because of Venere reviews!!"
"This is a very good hotel to stay at in Florence. Recently renovated, this small hotel is well located. It is just a short walk to almost all attractions and next door to the main train station. It is also conveniently close to the Plaza San Mercato, Florence's big open air market."
"Bright and modern hotel, very close to the heart of Florence (only 5 min walk to Il Duomo), rooms are very comfortable and extremely clean, good breakfast as well! staff is very friendly, helpful and professional (very good English spoken as well)...We really enjoyed staying at Hotel Globus, and I would definitely go back there if ever in Florence again!"
"When we arrived at the Globus Hotel the desk personnel greeted us with a big smile. They were always very nice and funny throughout our entire stay. I definitely plan to return to Florence and stay at the Globus."
"Delicate rooms and superb location for a medium price. A special thank to the staff at the reception for their wonderful service."
"Very clean, modern hotel close to the train station. The desk clerk was extremely friendly and helpful; he really went out of his way to help us get settled and his restaurant recommendation was excellent!"
"I would thoroughly recommend the Globus Hotel to anyone visiting Florence. Whilst a 3* hotel it offers 5* service - the staff are extremely frendly and helpful. If only all hotels could be like this."
"An excellent base for exploring Florence. For those who prefer modern comforts the Globus is ideal, with internet access to boot. What clinched it for us was the fantastic standard of service we received from hotel staff. Whether we wanted to find a trattoria used by local Florentines, find out train times or jump the huge queues at the Uffizi gallery, Globus staff found a solution pronto. Would definately go back."
"A 10+ for the the well-informed and extremely helpful staff...their tips and suggestions helped me make the most of a short visit."

"Perfect location for sightseeing in Florence. Staff were helpful, breakfast more substantial than many places. We would stay again if in Florence."
"The customer service was wonderful. Everybody was very helpful. This was the largest room and bath on our whole trip. The host even made reservations for the Accademia and Uffizi Museum, for us. The hotel was very close to the train station. The hotel rooms were very clean and I would highly recommend to anybody."
"Our stay at the Gioia Hotel was a truly great one. Even though we had a 2nd floor room overlooking the street it was quiet with the double paned windows closed. Not that we kept them closed much because we didnīt want to miss anything. The room was just like the pictures and the bathroom was big enough for my 6 ft 1 in, 100 kg frame. We couldnīt believe how easy it was to walk to almost all of the major attractions of Florence. In addition there are great laundry facilities and internet close by. Continental breakfast was not in the great class, but was fresh and adequate enough to keep you going into the afternoon. Service in the restaurant was terrific as with all other requests for information or assistance. We would definitely choose Gioia when we return to Florence."
"We were on a budget this was a great value. Breakfast was excellent just enough to get you going. Great location to everything , great reasturants close by. I would stay here again."
"The Gioia Hotel was very good value for price and location. I had a very pleasant stay at the Gioia and would highly recommend it for its close location to the Duomo, Santa Croce, the Uffizi and the Ponte Vecchio. The next time I go to Florence I will definitely rebook the Gioia."
"This place was excellent. The location it seemed was central to everything as we were in Florence for 5 days. The staff was very friendly and informative, especially with airport, train and driving information. We enjoyed the outdoor terrace at nite but a table and chairs would have been really appealing. It was great to have a fridge for keeping stuff cold. Would definitely recommend and stay here again, the location is excellent for shopping. Close to the market."
"It's really worth to stay at GIOIA. Your are only 5min away of a supermarket and very close to the city center. The rooms are really spacious and even on the street side very calm."
"Hotel is conveniently located and the staff was very friendly and accomodating."
"Our stay at the Gioia was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and most spoke English fluently. Breakfast each morning consisted of croissants, bread, jam, yogurt, juice and coffee. We had a "terrace" off one of our rooms, which was pleasant for relaxing on at the end of long days of sightseeing. I would definitely recommend the Gioia."
"The room was huge. The bathroom must have been recently restored, it was great. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the train station. The breakfast had no hot food but was adequate. The staff was very kind and helpful."
"Wonderful experience especially because of employees George, Pasquale and Frank. These three made us feel like family. Great location (most sites within a 10 minute walk). Highly recommend."
"We were very pleased with our recent stay. The Gioia Hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful. The location is excellent as we walked everywhere, including to the train station for our departure. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this area. Breakfast was adequate, rooms are clean, and the in-room safe and mini-bar were nice surprises."
"Small hotel with GREAT location!!! Few blocks to L'Accademia and Il Duomo. Walking distance to almost every other attraction and the train terminal. The owner speaks very good English and was very nice and friendly. We arrived much before check-in time and were immediately given our room. We were three persons and the room was very spacious; not so the bathroom, but it was very clean. The air conditioning worked well (we were there during a heat wave in August!), as did the mini-fridge. All in all this was a very good value for the money. We would definitely stay there again."
"I read good reviews about the hotel on this site and was pleasantly surprised at their accuracy!"

"People at the desk were very helpful to make reservations for restaurants or guides."
This is a very pleasant hotel and conveniently located near the river. We enjoyed our stay."
"A very pleasant hotel with no frills - a good choice for a short break - close to many major sites but away from the busier, noisier centre."
"This is a small, elegantly refurbished hotel in a palazzo block that has real style. Its central location means that one can easily walk everywhere in Florence and there are plenty of good restaurants around. The car garage is just 200 metres up the road at a special price of 20 euros for a full 24-hour period. Breakfast is served in an elegant room and was quite ample. The management were all friendly and welcoming. An interesting historical touch is that Mozart stayed at the hotel in 1770 when on his tour of Italy. We will stay at the Goldoni again next time we visit Firenze."
"The staff were so helpful to us. Not speaking more than a few words of Italian, we were really grateful to them for providing an Internet search for our next train journey. Nothing was too much trouble. Location was really close to all the sites."

Unicorno Hotel in Florence Hotel Unicorno is in an interesting position, in a street of antique shops in the very heart of Florence.
The renovation of the Hotel Unicorno was achieved by combining the original features of this 15th century building with a more essential, modern, elegant style: the result is an innovative, appealing interior, in which you have 15th-century ceiling vaults in a room and contemporary paintings in the next.
The hotel is close to Florence central railway station and Santa Maria Novella Church; the main galleries and monuments are within minutes' walking distance.
All rooms have en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, R11 socket for Internet connection, direct telephone, fridge bar, satellite TV, safety box, and hair dryer.
A guest's review: "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Unicorno. The staff were friendly, helpful, welcoming and efficient. The rooms were pleasant, with good facilities. Breakfast was a little 'basic', and could have been of better quality. In terms of value for money I would say the Unicorno was expensive, but in line with other hotels we have stayed in in Italy. We would recommend the Unicorno unhesitatingly."

General price range per room
Single & double rooms: 80 - 150 euros
Suites, triple & quadruple rooms: 150 - 200 euros

This is a summary of guests' reviews:
"A lovely hotel with excellent friendly staff. They made reservations at Uffizi and Galleria dell'Accademia for us. The location is the best, short walks to all points of interest and close to train station as well. Narrow little street really captures the flavor of Florence. Can't beat it, made our stay in Florence an extra pleasing experience."
"This is a great place! The staff is friendly, helpful and speak excellent English. The hotel is within walking distance of the train station and less than 10 minutes from most major attractions. The staff even booked my Uffizi tickets for me prior to my arrival! The buffet breakfast is quite good, the place is spotless and very well maintained. The neighborhood is very funky with good restaurants and shops right around the corner. I will stay at City again."

Globus Hotel in Florence

Assorted guests' reviews:

"This hotel and its staff were the best during our trip. The team were all really friendly helpful and fun."
"We- a 15-yr-old and her middle-aged mother- loved this place! The staff is superb, the location convenient (near the San Lorenzo market and the train station), the breakfasts ample (and no watered-down espresso, which unfortunately seems to be becoming the standard), and the price is right."
"Excellent location, extremely friendly, efficient and helpful staff, and a real find if you're looking for a contemporary hotel at an affordable price!"
"Nice little hotel with a boutique feel about it."
"Excellent Stay! the Service was phenomenal. They booked reservations at the top museums and made superb recommendation for a local restaurant (ZaZa). Location was ideal: close to the train station, next to the market, and a very short distance to the Dome. I would definitively stay again and highly recommend."
"It is an incredible hotel, the owners are there personally to assist with anything, internet in the rooms, very modern decorations, extremely confortable, a/c, I will always come back there, very hightly reccomended."
"Hotel was convenient, and reception gave better service than many places several times the size of the Globus. Very convenient to SMN station."
"We found both the staff and facilities excellent. A very modern decor which was very comfortable."
"Staff went out of their way to be friendly, welcoming & helpful. Hotel was an oasis of quiet modernity in centre of bustling Florence."
"We only stayed one night at the Globus, but we really enjoyed it. As Americans, hotels in Europe are always quite small, but the Globus made up for it in cleanliness and up-to-date furniture and fixtures. There was one surprise--one must walk up 2 flights of stairs to get to the reception area. As we have a baby and the accompanying stroller, we were pleased that the staff offered us immediate assistance with carrying all of our luggage. Highly recommend this hotel."
"Our stay in Globus was the most pleasant and comfortable. The room was spacious and had great (almost Arctic) air conditioning, which was very nice in June while temperatures rose record high, as we were told. Very contemporary interior, everything looks brand new, TV with Internet capability, and free access to Internet on the laptop in the lobby. Breakfast 7-10:30 am, good coffee, yogurt, fruits, bakery, etc. Excellent location, right in the middle of all attractions. Our expectations were definetly exceeded. We would certainly stay there again and recommend it to our friends."
"The Globus Hotel was an excellent hotel. Centrally located. All the staff were very welcoming and the service was first class. The only down side ws that it was a modern hotel and therefore had little Florentine character, but I would highly recommend it to anyone and would stay there again."
"My husband, daughter and I really enjoyed our stay at the Globus. The service was always wonderful and cheerful. Their English was excellent. A big plus for us was the provided laptop in the breakfast room for free-of-charge internet access. The location was good, 1/2 block from the Central Market (the indoor food market there is not to be missed), a short walk to the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio and most other Florentine sights."
"The Hotel staff were extremely helpfull which helped to make our stay pleasureable. The hotel was very convenient to see all the major sites and shops, particularly the open market. We recommend the hotel to any one wishing to spend a holiday in Florence."
"Staying at this hotel was a wonderful experience. The staff were more than helpful, breakfast was good and the facilities were nice. Also it was right in the middle of everything so we could easily walk to any place we wanted to go."
"We did enjoy the hotel Globus very much. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was nicely furnished, modern, clean and well kept. The room was quiet (no street noise). The hotel is centrally located within a few minutes walking distance from all sights as well as the train station. We can recommend the hotel and would stay there again. N.B.: The hotel has no parking facilities, but we could leave our car in a near by parking garage (recommended by the hotel staff) for 18 Euro a day. We did not need or use the car in Florence."
"The Globus Hotel was clean and comfortable. It has modern attractive decor and the room was spacious with a view of a few roofs and the San Lorenzo dome. The staff were all friendly and helpful. There is satellite tv and mini bar and hairdryer in the bathroom. It is close to the sights and not noisy. It is excellent value for money and I would recommend it to anyone. Certainly better than an overpriced 4 star where you get to stay in the boiler room for twice the price and with half the service. A good find. Thank you venere."
"The rooms were spotless, well designed and comfortable. Breakfasts were very good. The location could not have been better for visiting Florence. The main and lasting impression was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. We would certainly choose to go there again."
"Excellent hotel recently renovated to high standard. Staff very obliging and good breakfast. Florence expensive but we thought we got a good deal."
"Globus was the best hotel of our ten days in Italy- great location (Florence is small, location doesnt matter so much but its near the train station and that was perfect for us.) Very chic decor. Amazingly warm and accomodating staff. Brand new bathrooms, very nice breakfast, and lovely common areas. Its like a Miami boutique hotel, but with no bad attitudes- REALLY welcoming. The rates are unbelievably low for the service and amenities provided."
"This is the best hotel we stayed at during our trip to Italy. The hotel was recently renovated with cool chic furnitures. We stayed at superior room which is really spacious and clean. Our room had the view of nearby church bell tower. In the morning we were waken by the bell, it was a wonderful alarm clock! The staff is very friendly, they gave us useful information regarding museums, restaurant and tours. The breakfast is good and again with excellent service. The hotel is 5 minute walk to train station and right by the San Lorenzo market. We loved strolling around to check out all the different shops. I would recommend this hotel to anyway visiting Florence."
"We greatly enjoyed this recently modernised hotel. The decor is stylish throughout, light, clean and uncluttered. The staff were efficient, welcoming and helpful, with excellent English. At breakfast there was a good choice of rolls, brioches, toast, spreads etc, and plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and frothy milk. It is an easy walk from the station. We are very happy to recommend the Globus."
"My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Globus Hotel . The room was more spacious than other hotel rooms in Italy and they were absolutely spotless. The bathrooms, newly remodeled were also very nice. The location was excellent, only 3-4 blocks from the train station. The staff at the front desk were extremely courteous and very helpful."
"Hotel is good with very nice decoration, everything is perfect. Room is clean and comfortable, with free internet, free coffee and tea in the lobby. The staffs offer good information for travelling around. I do enjoy my stay here and I will recommend my friends and readers (I am a travel writer) about this hotel."
"My sister and I stayed at the Globus Hotel. We absolutely adored the Globus... our room, the decor, the staff, the breakfast. Excellent coffee!! It was the best hotel of our entire 2-week France/Italy trip. Reception and breakfast room employees were warm, friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English. We arrived late after a somewhat harrowing day of missed train connections and re-routing. We were so pleased with the room and its ammenities. I commend them for the refurbishment that has been undertaken recently. The windows and shutters and the entire decor are faboo!! I can't praise the Globus enough!! It's location is very convenient. We were able to walk everywhere and even walked with our luggage (on wheels) to the train station the day of our departure. And there's an Irish pub just around the corner. I would love to return to Florence someday - more than any other destination on our trip - and I will surely stay at the Globus Hotel again!!! Thank you Globus!"
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this little boutique hotel. The rooms were tastefully decorated as were the public areas. Breakfasts were good. The hotel was bright and clean. The best 2 factors about the hotel were the staff and the location. The staff could not do enough to help - they were the most friendly we encountered and they seemed to really enjoy their job. The location was right near the food market which really enjoyed exploring. Shops nearby were open for long hours so it was always easy to grab some bread and cheese etc for a snack if you didn't feel like going out."
"Great staff. The room was quite modern and the best quality of any room I have ever stayed at in Italy. Also, free internet access was provided in each room on the television set."
"The Globus Hotel has an excellent location. Close enough to walk from the train station and all the sites. It is modern with a great shower. (and even heated towel racks which is nice in November.) The staff is welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was very good with fresh kiwi. It even has webTV. Overall, this was my favorite hotel during a trip to Italy in several cities. Good value for the money. Would definitely recommend it."
"I'll gladly recommend this new and beautiful hotel with all the latest modern conveniences to anyone planning to visit Florence."
