The best experience we've had in three trips to Venice - including five-star hotels - and the best deal we had during a five-week European holiday."

A summary of typical guests' reviews:
"It would be hard to beat the combination of location and price at the Antica Venezia. The room was lovely and comfortable and the bathroom was very modern and spotless. Our room was right next to the desk, but there was very little noise that we heard. The upstairs lounge area was very nice and we enjoyed our breakfast on the terrace every morning. Staff was very helpful and welcoming, and as a previous respondent said, "you only have to carry your bags up the stairs once". I would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to stay at a smaller hotel that is close to San Marco, but far enough away to be quiet at night."
"A charming hotel well situated close to Piazza San Marco. Breakfast on the roof top terrace is a great way to start the day in Venice. Staff were friendly and welcoming."
"Lovely large room and a beautiful roof-top terrace for breakfast. Felt very safe walking the local streets at night. All in all a wonderful stay."
"Beautiful hotel in wonderful position. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. We loved the roof terrace! Would definitely stay there again."
"I was influenced in booking this particular hotel due to previous reviews and it has lived up to my expectations. Yes it could be a little difficult to find but having been to Venice previosuly, we knew roughly where it was afterall just 2 minutes from St Mark's Sq. The internal stairs up into the hotel would be a problem for those not so agile, however once inside the charm of the hotel and the very friendly staff, make it all worthwhile. We had rented a combo which situated at the very top of the hotel took us above all the noise from the streets and to be woken with the sound of birds, not the pigeons, left us momentarily confused. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a first class way to start the day. The hotel has a family run feel about it and the apparent genuine warmth, reflected in the decor, makes you feel very welcome."
"Using the map published on the Web we found the property easily."
"We had a wonderful welcoming visit and would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the heart of Venice. The location was superb and the hotel's cleanliness and appearance was excellent."
"This hotel was an excellent choice, clean, convenient location - close to San Marco yet still quiet, covenient to water taxi service & easy to find. Staff was very helpful & friendly. As has been mentioned - there are a many stairs - 83 to our room to be exact. As long as you pack light, this is not a problem. We had a great stay!"
"Excellent Website - Hotel was exactly as described in previous reviews. The hotel was very warm & welcoming. Very Centrally located. Rooms were very spacious & beautifully decorated."
"Our family (my wife and our three teenage sons) benefited from having read previous reviews. Yes the Antica is difficult to find as only very small signage is present near the entry way. However the accomodations available are a great value for so central a location in Venice, and the service was fine."
"The friendliest place I have stayed in Italy; small, personal and charming! The staff could not have been more helpful, and spoke excellent English. The breakfast terrace had wonderful views over the rooftops. The location was ideal, and easy to reach from both St Marco and Rialto. If I ever visit Venice again I would definitely choose to stay at Antica Venezia."

Double rooms: 90 - 180 euros
Triple & quadruple rooms: 110 - 220 euros

"A delightful little hotel, very close to St. Mark's Square in a quiet courtyard. The rooms are rather small, but beautifully decorated and well equipped. It's not very easy to find, even with the map. You approach through an archway that looks like the entrance to a different hotel, then you see a small sign pointing to 'Anastasia'."

"Literally only a minute from Piazza San Marco, the hotel was easy to find and one of the most convenient places to stay in Venice ... especially during Carnevale. The room was spacious, comfortable, and quiet. The staff was friendly and efficient. I plan to stay here again."
"Very close to san marco, probably one of best places for that reason. Only 50 metres from station boat 82. I definitely will try to get again this hotel when I'm going to venice again. Clean, everything is working, breakfast is typical for italy (means not very good)as good as everywhere."
"Fabulous location close to St Mark's but we enjoyed a large four-bedded room at a very reasonable price, with a good breakfast. This hotel exceeded our expectations and we would stay there again. Thank you."
"Within 100 meters of San Marco Square the hotel offered a spacious, quite and perfectly air-conditioned family room (as was the rest of the hotel), which was the perfect center point for sightseeing trips in a hot (40 degrees Celsius) Venice. Be sure that revisiting Venice will be revisiting Casanova."
"Good location very near Piazza San Marco on quiet side street. Several restaurants steps away from hotel. Reasonable size rooms. Fairly helpful front desk."
"The hotel itself was very good. It was a bit difficult to find...but what isn't in Venice? The 4-bedded room with a bathroom was great! A two-room suite with private balcony and spacious bathroom. Staff was eager to help and spoke good English."
"Very good staying in this hotel near san Marco place and every sightseeing. Employees were nice."
"We enjoyed our stay here. It is an excellent position behind St Marks Sq."
A very nice and clean hotel. Rooms are great. It is seconds from St Marks Square."
